“I tried to meditate, but I just can’t do it. My brain won’t stop thinking!”
If that’s been your experience, you’re in good company. So many of us have been taught to see meditation as a pass/fail endeavor that’s only successful if our minds are completely silent. But what if that weren’t realistic, or even desired?
What if it were okay for your mind to be busy? What if mindfulness and meditation were about befriending your mind and all of its thought patterns, instead of judging and excluding them?
Imagine a life where you feel truly at home in your own body and mind; where you realize that just because you think something doesn’t make it true. Imagine greeting yourself – especially the parts of you that are struggling – the way you’d greet an old friend: warmly, kindly, and with genuine compassion.
Through this 6-week course, we’ll learn to inhabit the present moment and find a soft landing in our own lives. We can learn to navigate difficulty, savor joy, and live more fully. Join me, Drea (Drey-ah) Hartwell, as we walk this path together. A path of community. A path of wholeness. A path that can guide us home.
